PhD Candidate in Philosophy — University of Potsdam

I am a PhD candidate in Philosophy at the University of Potsdam. My doctoral work is funded by the Cusanuswerk and supervised by Logi Gunnarsson and Thomas Khurana.

I received my MA in Philosophy from the University of Potsdam, where I worked on Stanley Cavell’s concept of acknowledgment and Martha Nussbaum’s account of the relation between literature and moral understanding.

My research lies at the intersection of moral philosophy, aesthetics, and ordinary language philosophy. My dissertation, Form(s) of Relation: Skepticism, Acknowledgment, and Aesthetic Form, examines what becomes visible when our relations to other persons, the world, language, and ourselves become objects of reflection and questioning. Drawing especially on Ludwig Wittgenstein, Stanley Cavell, and Iris Murdoch, I approach skepticism as a form of relational problematization through which the conditions, limits, and possibilities of these relations can become explicit and available for reconsideration. I am particularly interested in the relations among skepticism, acknowledgment, moral attention, and aesthetic form, and in how literature and film organize experiences of distance, opacity, perception, and response.
